Hawke’s Bay Combined Taxis Limited operates a modern fleet of 40 vehicles all privately owned and operated by our Shareholders. The entire fleet has eftpos, credit card and taxicharge facilities.
Our mini van service is door to door in late model 9 and10 seater vans all fully equipped with GPS and Eftpos facilities for payment convenience. Our fares are among the cheapest in the greater Hawke’s Bay Area, without compromising comfort or service. Pre booking is preferred especially for major events e.g. Mission Concert, Art Deco etc. however not always necessary.
Our Total mobility vehicles carry wheelchairs, motorised scooters. Transfers are from any location in Hawke’s Bay to any area in the North Island along with supporting the local work.
Drivers are all NZQA qualified in passenger care. Bookings can be confirmed while you wait.
Hawke’s Bay Combined Taxis Limited uses a fully computerized dispatch system to manage all bookings, vehicle positioning and availability, major contracts, accounts (TaxiCharge NZ Ltd) and vehicle and driver records.
All vehicles have a high – tech GPS unit installed to receive booking information. Having a computerized system offers added security for our customers by knowing that the vehicle they are being transported in complies with NZTA requirements.
Hawke’s Bay Combined Taxis Limited carries out document and parcel deliveries locally and to out of town location for major contracts along with medical items etc. For out of town/region deliveries can have pre-arranged pricing applied.

When arriving at the airport, pre-book a taxi ahead of time and your driver will meet you at the gate at no extra cost. Or you can simply jump into one of our taxis parking outside in the airport taxi area.

The driver will be at the Port with a white board with your groups name on it. The driver will be aware of the hour(s) required and will follow your instructions for the tour.
Hawke's Bay Taxis offer you a variety of payment options. In App: Use the app to pay for your ride by entering your credit card or TaxiCharge card details and simply select which card to use as mode of payment. In Car: physically pay with cash, Eftpos/Credit Cards and TaxiCharge cards.

No. Trips are always charged at the standard per kilo meter rate. It is important to us that you have certainty that our fares will not differ without notice. We display our fare schedule in every taxi. Also, you can ask your driver about our standard pricing.
We understand that our drivers must be trustworthy, as they are often carrying vulnerable passengers. We believe cameras installed in taxis save lives. All of our taxis are fitted with cameras to keep you and our drivers safer. There are many independent reports that support the effectiveness of security cameras at reducing driver fatalities, moderating public behaviour, and reducing incidents of assaults on passengers.

To assist in the investigation of the complaint, please provide the Taxi number or vehicle registration, the name on drivers ID card, the date and time of trip, the pickup and drop off location or location of incident. Complaints can be investigated without this information, but can often result in us being unable to identify the driver/vehicle. Complaints made will be acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt.
Yes, we cater to everyone in our community. We have Total Mobility (Wheelchair) Vehicles. Please call us to enquire or make a booking.
As per Section 75 of the Dog Control Act, our taxi drivers will accept into their car a Disability Assist dog. Some drivers will take other animals in their car, but please check in advance of the ride.
We can provide vehicles for weddings and special events. We can arrange our cars dressed or undressed for weddings if your request have enough notice but that all will come at extra charges.
Unfortunately, we only have limited numbers of taxi vans, most of which do double duty as total mobility (wheelchair) vehicles. Please ring and arrange your van at least 24 hours in advance when possible.
We can only take up to four people in a car. But we have vans available for five people or more. Please book your van in advance, as we cannot guarantee their availability at busy times.
We can deliver your groceries if you have paid for them in advance. However, we are unable to purchase goods for you.
We cannot deliver alcohol or cigarettes to you. It is illegal to buy alcohol then sell it on to you without the proper license. Even if the alcohol has been paid for by you, we cannot know that it is not destined for a minor. The same applies to cigarettes.
When you pre-order a taxi, this gives you priority. It is rare that your taxi will be late, however there may be times, due to a number of different reasons that are out of our control, your taxi is late. Please call us on 06 835 7777 to enquire about the whereabouts of your taxi.
Unfortunately, a taxi van driver cannot help you move flat. But you can order a van to transport yourself and your belongings.
Our drivers stay in contact with you via text message. They will alert you when they are waiting for you outside your address. To make sure you get the alerts, please make sure we have your mobile phone number if you book a taxi through our call centre.

Any property found in a taxi is required to be dropped at the nearest police station within 24 hours if not claimed sooner. If you leave something in a taxi, please try and remember what taxi number and/or the driver’s name (as shown on the ID card which all taxi drivers are required to display in clear view of the passenger). If you don’t remember either of these details, the pickup address, time and date, and drop off point are important information in the finding of lost property.
